KING PARROT Signs With CANDLELIGHT RECORDS

April 4, 2013

Candlelight Records has announced the signing of Australian extreme thrashers KING PARROT.

After two years, several national tours, an EP and many hours confined to a tour bus, KING PARROT's debut longplayer, aptly titled "Bite Your Head Off", was released in Australia on CD and vinyl through Impedance Records/Rocket Distribution, and Candlelight will made the record available early summer in Europe and the rest of the world. The CD was produced by Jason Fuller (BLOOD DUSTER, DERN RUTLIDGE) and Adam Calaitzis (DAMAGED, ABRAMELIN) and it captures the raw intensity of the band's live shows on tape.

According to a press release, KING PARROT defies genres with a cross section assault on thrash, grind, punk and hardcore and back it up with a brutally entertaining live show.

"Shit On The Liver" is the first single to be lifted from "Bite Your Head Off" and the accompanying music clip has been hailed as one of the best Australian metal videos of all time. The track also appears as a split seven-inch single with Australian metal legends FRANKENBOK.

KING PARROT completed an extensive national tour in October and November of 2012 and heads out again in January as part of the Devil's Kitchen festival. Regular rotation on Australia's best rock and metal stations like Triple J and Triple M has grown the popularity of the band since its inception on the live touring scene in 2011.

KING PARROT is setting its sights on the world and is touring Southaast Asia in April and Europe in July/August, with appearances at Obscene Extreme festivals in Australia, Indonesia and Czech Republic locked in.
